WHAT IS NATURAL BINCHOTAN?
The natural charcoal is divided into white & black charcoal, the type of white charcoal is the top grade of grill charcoal and we call them binchotan. At the Edo period, a businessman who use his name to title them as a brand. Pass down to now, the name of "Binchotan" means the highest degree of charcoal.
WHY PEOPLE LIKE NATURAL BINCHOTAN?
1. Hardness and Density: Binchotan is extremely hard and dense, often producing a metallic sound when struck together. This is due to the high-temperature carbonization process, which can reach up to 1000°C.
2. Purity: Binchotan burns very cleanly, emitting little to no smoke, odor, or harmful chemicals. This makes it ideal for grilling, particularly in high-end restaurants, where it is often used for cooking due to its ability to achieve very high, consistent heat.
3. Long-lasting Heat: It can burn for hours and maintains a steady heat, which makes it efficient for cooking.
WHY IS NATURAL BINCHOTAN BECOMING VERY DIFFICULT TO GET AND EXPENSIVE?
Due to the high quality Natural Binchotan is made from Japanese oak, particularly ubame oak, the trees are very rare and precious. On the other hand, people and governments became more and more awareness of carbon emission & sustainable development. Nowaday, Natural Binchotan also has multiple usages which is for purifying drink water, decoration and air purifying.
